This program is designed to engage participants with their community by developing their self-efficacy and capital, social capital and support systems. Often local resisents do not have the knowledge or the self confidence to participate in activities in their neighbourhood.Many parents are willing and available to contribute through schools, playgroups,Neighbourhood Centres and support and appropriate resources may continue on to further education or employment.

Sessions aim to : connect participants, build social capital assist with basic literacy and numeracy skills,discuss the hidden rules of middle class systems ,develop confidence, pride and ownership in the community,listen to their stories and develop future choices and finally all participants will be supported in the development of a community project or event
Activities are based on participants stories and experiences Discussions and activities develop vocabulary and literacy skils. The need for documentation and collection of data is practiced.. Strategies for planning,examples of mental models for learning and scaffolding for resumes and project management are introduced. Throughout the program family health,liesure and the needs are explored.
10- 12 sessions x 4 hrs each
